Got a phone call form Mr. Eric Matthews with the IRS (this time) saying that I have some financial "case" against me and I owed some $$$...Laughed and told him to get lost...He said that the police will be over at my house within 30 minutes...Replied back "Good, tell them I have coffee and donuts"...The Nerve of These Parasites!!!
If you got "documents" from the State, you can tell us what appears on the first page ... the name of the State, the name and address of the department that supposedly sent you the documents, the full title of the document, the legal words describing the supposed problem, and the name of the person who signed the documents.

There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.
