I received a call from this number. A man stated that he was from the Bangladesh Embassy and tried to convince my father that he owed $28,000 to the IRS (American, I believe) and was facing imprisonment for tax evasion. The "Embassy" man 3-way called a man claiming to be from the IRS and argued on behalf of my father until the IRS man agreed to accept $14,000 instead. I took the phone and demanded an email stating the amount owed and some sort of identification from the Embassy man. The IRS man left the phone call and the embassy man said that letters were already sent to my address and the time to notify us of the debt has already passed. He said there are no ID numbers for Bangladesh Embassy employees. I demanded some form of id and he told me to shut my mouth and I hung up.
Recieved a call from African sounding individual claims to be with the collection division of the IRS, working in Washington, DC. The caller was pressing for fictitious "unpaid taxes" from more than 10 years ago. The caller had my mailing address. He stated I was sent a letter and asserted that I ignored the letter so he was going to file a lien. No letter was ever recieved. I questioned him on his authority and asked for his employee ID for which he gave a five digit number and then when asked who his supervisor was he told me a name, but quickly added that the person was unvailable. I pressed him on the alleged letter and he said the IRS only sends one letter. I have had dealing with the IRS in my profession and know that the IRS sends and often frequently. As in the message from Target above this man also told me to have Blessed Day.
We got a call too. The man called himself Kevin Jones, said he was a tax attorney for IRS, badge number 23577 and wanted to speak to my wife regarding some serious tax lien issues. When asked that why did we not get any information from IRS about this, he said he wanted to call first and help if possible but would only be able to speak to my wife. We googled his number and found this site.Blessed day for us too.
