Just received a call from this number. Person spoke with accent. He did leave a message, which the first part was missing. He stated 2 notices had been mailed and I have not responded, that is was important that I return his call, he repeated the number twice. Of course only family have my cell phone number, that was my first clue, Second was that I have never received any mail notices on anything.
This a Pakistan or India based IRS scam. Do not fall for this.

The IRS does not initiate any legal action via phone. Report it also to your local law enforcement agency. The scammers use voice over IP lines (e.g. magicjack (Ymax corporation)). This is against these companys' terms of use and can lead to termination of their contract. However only law enforcement can initiate the contact if you yourself are not a customer. Ultimately this is a case for the FBI legal attache in Islamabad or New Delhi. If you are really annoyed: call or write to your representative in Congress. As these scams happen all over the country maybe this will trigger a reaction (and the NSA can finally be a force for good).
I received a call from the person with an accent. He told me I received a notice and did not get back with him.
I know this is a scam, this needs to be stopped. They try to scare you into talking with them. They did leave a message
with the first part left out telling me it was important to call them back. I did receive a second call and I told them
to take my number off of their list and do not call me anymore.
I received a call from this number today. He told me that there had been an error in my tax file between the years 2008 and 2013 discovered in audit. He then wen on to say that Homeland Security was aware of this and that if I hung up on him or interrupted his call there was an immediate order for my arrest. He then said that there already was an order for my arrest but it would be expedited if I terminated the call. Once I was able to regain my senses I typed the number he called from in a search box and found this information which put me at ease. I then got defensve with him and he ended up hanging up on me. I immediately called the IRS and they instructed me to go to www.tigta.gov and fill out a report. Please do not let them talk you into giving them any money.
