Got a call from this number last night and he left me a voicemail saying I needed to call him back immediately because I am a criminal. although I have a completely clean record....
Got a call from this number today. As others, a male of Indian descent stated he was from the IRS and that there was a serious law suit pending against me. He asked if I was aware of that. When I said no he said he would have to transfer me to his officer and to please stay on the line. I hung up. Number called back 30 seconds later, but I ignored it. I have also reported this to the FTC (per guidance from IRS website).
This number 202-239-7146. I been getting a lot of calls from this number claiming to be an officer from the IRS... I call him back and I got the same message you guys got. Some body needs to track this people to stop all those criminals. Please... They are trying to still from people...some body need to stop then.
As Rex pointed out, these are foreign scammers, and almost all of these calls are coming from India. Unless their government co-operates with ours, little chance of them being busted . Your best bet is a call blocker, but tell em you know its a scam.

•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
We received a call from this # today. Claiming to be IRS once they realized I had a attorney he got very agitated and told me to quit play games. Then he hung up.
