I get these calls periodically all the same scammers trying to intimidate people into giving them money - legal authorities do not call you to tell you to turn yourself in they just come and get you if it is a legitimate legal issue - these people are morons. I give them a hard time and they swear at me and then I don't hear from them for a month and then they try again - it is sad that anyone has to deal with this and I sure hope no one gives them anything - makes me so angry that they are using these scare tactics.
Received a call from an Federal Agent Adam Benson saying I being investigated for illegal activities under my name and my social that I need to contact the Department of Justice so I can not receive a "Big Debt" this call came twice today..once @ 10:52 am and the second @ 4:05 pm. They also had the nerve to leave a message at my workplace.
So, I had a real Federal Agent with the FBI to contact them back @ 202-239-8194 and they kept hanging up the phone everytime he identified himself as a Federal Agent to them, my friend also said the same thing..that the Dept. of Justice or FBI Agents would not call you they would come to your house or workplace directly. After the second call they told me I will be arrested at my workplace. This is so stupid for these people to be doing this. And I will not pay them a dime.
