Received call from 202-241-5691 at 8:08am this morning from "special agent William Right of federal government DEA division" stating I face federal charges and I must call back to avoid jail.
These morons should be put in jail for this. Unfortunately this country allows this crap to happen and allows these people to scam.
This happened to me today 9/26/2013. Unfortunately in my blissful ignorance to the people of this world that are willing to emotionally rape you over the phone, I fell for this. I didn't send the money, I looked it up, and found these comment boards (thank god). Agent William Wright, I'm going to prison, a warrant has been issued, send $1850 etc etc. The more I sit on this the angrier I get about information of innocent people that is out there now waiting to be exploited. I wish I would have been a little better warned of things like this happening, because the information he had was real. I'm not easily fooled, but this seemed very real. Looking back on it now in a calm state there were flaws all over it and I should have been able to catch it.
This morning the same thing happened to me, got a call fro Agent William Wright with the DEA. Said three years ago I ordered diet pills from the internet (I've had weight loss surgery so I'm not in the market for diet pills) but apparently I ordered them from the Dominican Republic and that is illegal. There was a warrant for my arrest being drawn up and the local police department would be out to my home to take me into custody. The only way to avoid prison time would be to pay a fine of $1000. I am on disability and having difficulty paying my light bill so I have nothing to give.. The line went dead. I called back and he was supposedly on a conference call regarding my case and I told them I would wait. Shortly "Mr Wright" got on the line and said he was able to get the judge to allow me to make payments if I could send at least $500 via wire gram right now. I told him I couldn't send anything and I don't remember ever getting any medications in the mail unless from the mail service my insurance company utilizes and I was phish calmly in my car on my way to my local police department to "turn myself in" and he told me no, not to do that they wouldn't know why I was there because it was. a Federal Issue and to go back home. I offered to let the police officers speak to him once I arrived but he said he wouldn't be available due to the three hour time difference. Then still frightened I came home and looked up the phone number that's when I if ally learned the truth. Thank you all for your stories it sure helped me!
I got a message from Special Agent William Wright with the DEA this morning. He basically tried to shake me down for $1,800.00. He wanted me to send a money order to the Dominican Republic, to pay for fines, or be picked up and arrested by two Federal Agents. I told him, I think this is a scam! and he immediately told me, I would be arrested & then he hung up. Years ago I was going to order a prescription online but changed my mind.. Somehow these vermin kept my e-mail, home address, and phone number. I called the FBI today and they told me, this is a scam. They told me to contact The Federal Trade Commission and report this; but unfortunately, with the government shut down, no one is working at this time..I will call them when things are up and going.. Also I'm planning on calling the police tomorrow..
