Received Two messages from them today; only the SAME guy with a caribbean accent gave his name as Neal Foster on the first message and then gave his name as Jim Casper on the second message. Said I was under investigation and there was a warrant issued for me. If it was that serious the Feds would have busted down my door already...wanted to call them and tell them to [***] Off but chose not to because some of these scams that leave a phone number for you to call back can impose a reverse charge at insane rates for the call leaving you with a hefty bill. Beware..Hope this info puts some at ease

Thank God for the internet!   Almost had a heart attack when I first heard the message on my answering machine.  Very similar to earlier posts.  Heavy Middle Eastern accent / male -- he said my full name and said that my name is being used against a current federal crime investigation by the US Department of the Treasury!  In addition to leaving a call back number, he left a case number.  With great trepidation, I called that telephone number -- luckily, it was way after hours and I was happy to hear a voicemail greeting that sounded unprofessional (even though another Middle Eastern accented male said in the voicemail greeting that you have reached the US Department of the Treasury Crime Investigations Unit).  Googled around -- found the legit US Dept of the Treasury website.  They have their own hotline number (this one, a 1-800 number, unlike the scam message I received which was a 202 [Washington DC] area code).  That voicemail greeting sounded straight up legit.  Even after I saw the warnings on the US Dept of Treasury website about an increased incidence of scammers falsely identifying themselves as representatives of the US Dept of Treasury, it really was only until I read the posts here that are attached to the phone number that the scammers left for me that my heart finally stopped racing.  THANK YOU PEOPLE!!  (To end, I blocked the 202 telephone number from my phone so that the scammers will hopefully not be able to contact me again).   GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!  (One more PS:  the other posters are correct:  IRS does not call -- they send letters).
