Message was left on my answer machine. Stating someone in the household or an attorney representing some one in the household should get in touch with Julie Smith of the IRS. They will take action against whomever if they do not call back. The message did not ask for anyone specifically.
Same number called me. Susan Smith from the irs , in an automated phone voice. Didn't ask for anyone specific or in message left. That alone sent up red flags. Told me to call back or they would come after me. I will be reporting this. Thanks.
Received another phone call from a Julie Smith with the internal revenue service, stateing I had to call back on the hotline # 202 241 7214 or further action would be taken. When I called # I got voice mail. Thanks. P.S I reported earlier that our was a, Susan Smith. I heard wrong on initial message, it was actually confirmed Julie Smith. Thanks again.
I call the number back and the man stated that I needed to get a criminal lawyer and was going to be sued . I told him why I have a payment plan with the IRS then he hung up on me. I called back and he kept hanging up on me. Thank goodness I didn't leave my social security number on the voice mail when I tried to return their call

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.
Just got a call from these scammers with the same automated voice message from 'Julie Smith'. When I called back a male answered and knew the phone that I was calling from so he called me by name. He told me that a lawsuit was being made against me and that I should talk to my lawyer. I told them that I didn't have a lawyer and I pay all my taxes so it can't be me. He then said that I should wait about an hour and the police would contact me and abruptly hung up.
