This is a criminal extortion ring operating out of India. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:
In the meantime, you are going to have to do whatever you can to protect yourself. That includes letting them know you are aware they are running a scam and are reporting them to the authorities.
I got a call from them 2 days ago, telling me they were going to get me for check fraud. So what I did was start calling them and calling and calling and finally they told me to stop calling them and I havent heard from them since. also got another call from a different one and I called them back so much they took there phone off the hook and told me to stop calling them.
Oriental guy called saying there was a legal suit against my phone number,,,,,, said there would be legal action papers sent to my address,,,, he could not tell me my address,,,,, SCAM. Kept asking if I wanted to resolve the issue before the suit. I told him to pack it in his ........
i had the same call that i was being charged with fraud and he was gonna have me arrested at my job same phone number told him to stop calling me or i would have him arrested ..now waiting to see what will happen to me , see if he will send someone to my job
