This is a criminal extortion ring operating out of India. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:
In the meantime, you are going to have to do whatever you can to protect yourself. That includes letting them know you are aware they are running a scam and are reporting them to the authorities.
I've had this number calling me saying I'm under investigation for federal suite against. It is regarding a pay day loan. I've been denied for pay day loans. The guy said is name was George Miller calling from Cash Advance USA. I asked for their address so I could contact my attorney and he hung up on me. I got down right rude with this guy. My neighbors came out to see what I was yelling about.
Yes I have been getting harassing phone calls from this number? Why? I don't even know WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE. Some supposed lawsuit on my Social Security number..or some gibberish to that effect and that I must call back immediately...but I will do such thing!! And I agree, it would be a scam because I am NOT in any kind of trouble with any legal stuff.
I have been receiving threatening phone calls from this number saything that they have my information and they are going to have my ss# black listed if I do not pay. I checked my account an have been taking out $106 every 2 weeks for a $300 dollar loan I am told I signed for. They could not give me prove of me signing for it. I have know Idea what to do!! help please
