I too just got a message from that phone number claiming to be IRS two days in a row, just called it and only busy signal. I hope someone catches these jerks!
I just got this phone call they have called me two days in a row (202-241-7848) stating that i was being sued by the IRS and they were gonna have agents serve me at my address, said God bless before hanging up. The IRS really needs to crack down on theser scams I was geting nervous and probably would have went through with payment to avoid being sued, very scary situation, im glad its not real
Received a call today from 202-241-7848. Stated they were the IRS. Saw this scam posted on the news just a day ago and BAM it's happening to me. No info given. Reported number to the IRS and to the National Do Not Call registry. Thanks for all the help from others above!
SCAM! Do not give them ANY INFORMATION. It is a shame they get people to answer and scare them into giving information. Tell your older relatives, especially, to beware. I assume the IRS would never say "God Bless" as a government agency or say they were about to serve you legal papers giving a time limit.
