Just got a call from 202-280-7395. The man said he was Damon Marshall and with the IRS and that the IRS
has changed their laws and because we owe taxes the police will be at our doorstep to arrest us!...I immediately researched this number......Wow! What a scam!!!
This jerk called back five times after I told him to pound salt. The IRS does business by correspondence, not some half-baked phone call made by an individual who is barely able to speak recognizable English. If this doesn't show just how ineffective and weak the Do Not Call list is, I don't know what would. This creep is pretty much bullet proof, and he knows it.
Say what? The Do Not Call list has nothing to do with any callers except those who are Registered Telemarketers with the FTC. Unless they are registered with the FTC, which scammers are not, and attempted to sell you goods or services over the phone, the do not list does not apply. Go to the FTC/DNC site and do some reading.
