I received a call from this number and asked me to pay my pending task. I got to know its a scam as am not working anywhere so there is no point to pay tax, so i asked for my company details. He could not answer.
Got the call and was scared. Scary thing was he was not letting me disconnect the call. My loving husband had to come from the office to comfort me. Still a bit scared.
Wow okay so this is a scam. When I told him "how do i even know you're legitimate and went on and on that I don't trust this phone call, I realized nobody was at the other end of the line.
Called me and told some [***] ( warranty No, Caller's Badge No.) and asked my details and when I rejected to tell any, Briefed me that once the call ends it means that the warranty can be issued and cops will arrest me in 2 hours and will be detained for 72 hours. All my assets will be seized by the government and blah-blah-blah. Told me the penalty fee and asked to settle it before the call ends.
Points to be noted: Government before issuing a warrant against you, will send a notice earlier (1 or 2 months before) and ask for your reply on it before any case starts in the court.
No government in the world wants to settle the case within a phone call.
This is a ridiculous number and never lift it.
I am an international student. I received a call from 2022831710 . The guy on the other side told me his badge number, file number and my warrant number, and told me he is calling me from DC and if I did not settle the issue by giving him $1240 before he hangs up phone, my warrent will be issued and I will be handcuffed. All my bank accounts will be seized. I will be sent to 72 hrs interrogation and might get 3-6 months jail.
This is totally a spam. I inquired and found that IRS never call anyone. The communicate by sending letters. Also if warrent has been issued, police will just show up at your door, not call u and tell u that warrent has been issued. This number is a big spam. If you receive any call from this number, just ignore it.
Got a call from 2022931710 , saying that a warrant has been issued against me by IRS and Department of homeland security , that i had suspicious activities in my tax form , saying u have provided misleading info to US gov. and ill be arrested its just a call to finalize if it can be resolved by OCR(out of court restitution) for which i have to pay $1250 , else ill be arrested for 72 hours and sent to alaska for the rest of my life . He began asking me for details like DOB and SSN and Passport number . I provided my DOB nothing else . He said to pay money within 60 mins or the arrest will be handled by NYPD .I asked what DHS has to do with tax matters . He said you'll face charges by DHS and IRS and to not disconnect the call or call any attorny . At this point i said ok i am calling the police and disconnected the call .
Don't provide any information , because the IRS people or any gov officials will confirm your details not ask you for them . Just hang-up the call.
