I received a call from this number and asked me to pay my pending task. I got to know its a scam as am not working anywhere so there is no point to pay tax, so i asked for my company details. He could not answer.

We just received a call from an individual identifying himself as Patrick Brown #75853 from the IRS claiming we had defrauded the government from 2008 to 2012 and have a warrant issued in my name. I first asked him if he had the right person which he replied with my correct name and address. He told me after going through my so called case file that we could settle this issue in court at a cost of $72K or paying him a sum of $32K now. That is when a light went off and realized this was a SCAM. After hanging up we tried to redial the number 202-283-1710 to find out that this number has been disconnected or no longer in service. Be careful and DO NOT provide ANY information.
I too got a phone call from the same number 202-283-1710 and said there is a warrant against me with my name and phone number. The person said he is Office Jimmy Arthur. The voice was keep on disconnecting. When I redial the number it was ringing and no one responded the call.
Got a call today from 202-283-1710, came up on caller id as "Treasury Dept.", no message left, hung up. I googled the number, found it to be another scam. I have gotten many calls from these scammers, usually a different number each time, some leave messages, telling me I am going to jail unless i call them back to settle debt. This scam is getting totally out of control, more and more calls, and i have to wonder how hard the government is trying to stop this blatant bunch of scammers. What can we do?
