Yeah me to! Idk why but they called me twice and the first time they called, it was a girl with a Asian accent and the second time a guy with and Asian accent called and I said you got the wrong number and he said "thank you, what your name" and I said don't call back and hung up. He callled today
A girl with Asian accent called me, identifying herself as from the US Treasury. Said that I won some money bec. I am a US taxpayer, blah, blah. She told me to call a (509)- phone number where they told me to pay $450. in processing fees. I hung up on them.
This number called me 3 times. When I finally answered, the man with an Indian accent told me I was selected to receive a $6,000 grant...I laughed and asked "why?"..then he hung up on me...lol
I'm receive the same kind of calls... Did you happen to find out if this is a scam? They told me the same thing about the grant. Let me know if there is anything I need to know to protect myself from such things. Thank you
They are scammers, I was just scammed today, said I was selected to receive a grant of $6,700, then gave another number (202-559-0773) to call ( Sam Redman), he asked how I would like to receive the money, bank account, debit card, or WalMart money gram, I chose the money gram then he said that I would have to send $200 to a third person (Robert Owens), then I was to call another number (202-407-9821 and speak to Jenny Wilson at the Federal Bank, they all had foreign accents. The first person I spoke with was Robert Cooper at (202-333-2221) which when I called back was no longer in service.
I got the same story, first two calls, no one spoke, 3rd call was female Asian or middle eastern accent, $6700 grant I wouldn't have to pay back, call 206-395-3052 and talk to Rose Milton. did back trace on both phone numbers, first was Washington DC, 2nd was Seattle, WA but she couldn't talk and asked I call back in ten minutes. Its all a scam, get you to pay processing fees, etc...just hang up, ignore. Who can you report this to?
