Total IRS tax fraud scam. Cannot even believe after reading all of these reports that these people think they can still make these calls and try to frighten people. Complete BS and I would love to see the people behind this be arrested.
I got the same recorded message with a partial message telling me to call them back. The next day, when I answered the call, they told me I was being charged with tax fraud, gave me a cast number and told me to pay up or the police would be at my house in 35 to 40 minutes, so I should quickly hire a criminal defense attorney or.....I could handle it right now through them. I hung up.
Got a call from 202-350-2492 by robo-call. Didn't hear the first part of their message because my outgoing msg is a bit long. They said I should call the number on the CID. However, the other part of the CID id'd the number as beginning with 011. I'm not really familiar with that, but isn't that an overseas connection? Someone above mentioned India, but the person on the recording didn't have an Indian accent.
