We got a call stating we were being sued by the Internal Revenue Service and to call the phone number 202-629-9097 immediately. We did not return the call, knowing that we do not owe anything to the IRS. We researched the phone number and discovered others are getting similar calls. SCAM!!!!!!!
I just got that message as well. Reported them to the FTC and the TIG. Should have called them back and invited them over for a piñata party to see if candy comes out of their heads. I have a pair of matching bracelets for them as well. I hate scammers.
I got a call from 202-350-2596 today while at work. A guy with poor English left a message stating that he was Officer Adam Baker and that he was with the IRS. I am supposed to call him the second I get this and not to call anybody else or legal actions would begin.
He called and left message from three numbers. I thought new york people had bad accent, but this guy was a hell lot more worse. I think he was saying IRS committed a fraud (or was it me) and that I need to pay him $780 by debit card for the news. I told him I don't want the news. But then, in the background I heard allah prayer calls. I asked him if it was time for his 5 prayers a day to silly allah. He said something. I couldn't understand him.
Had a message on my machine. Officer Adam Baker of the IRS, call him back immediately, and this was time sensitive. Said I was not to discuss the call with anyone, and must call before legal action was taken with me. He had a thick, foreign accent.
