received call from someone claiming to represent the IRS about a tax issue and that I could be jailed for not responding. Had an indian accent, wished me good luck if I didn't respond and that it would be my fault if I got arrested. Have had several computer voice type messages in the past, this one was a new one, an actual person.
Caller left the following message: "Service the IRS. They're right next moment you receive this automated message. We want you or your retained(?) attorney of record to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. The number for you to call the Iris back is 202-355-6717. Now if you don't return the call or if you don't hear it from your attorney either the only thing we can do is wish you good luck as the situation totally unfolds on you. There is a legal parish notice under your name for tax invasion and tax fraud so before the matter gets executed to the court house and before you get arrested. If you need any information or if you do have any questions kindly call the Iris Park at 202-355-6717. Thank you."
Do not answer calls you don't know and never call them back. The IRS will not call you. The IRS won't ask you to pay in i-Tunes cards. The IRS will not wish you "good luck as the situation unfolds". Trust yourself and your instincts - do not let a bully intimidate you by threats that are nothing but hot air.
Who is Iris? "There is a legal parish notice under your name..." parish is a county in Louisiana or see https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/parish...so I am confused as to their grammar.
Also, think about it. It is hard enough to get Government Workers to do something during a regular work week. Do you really think they are working on a weekend, and on a holiday weekend as well?
