Just had a call come in on the company work cell phone, answered, and was hung up on. This is a business phone, placed on blocked list, good lord, there is no business to have such wasteful calls on non sense on a business phone. We are making money, not trying to scam money, annoying.
Called 6 times. Finally someone on other end. I had qualified for a gov grant. I asked her to repeat the amt 3 times and repeated back what I thought I heard and "no sir ... much" . again 3 times to understand first 2 options to receive- only ever understood " if not comfortable... go to nearest money transfer place." the call ended with " thats because you're and idiot sir.
I got this call from Washington DC saying i won this money on the basis that i haven't filled bankrupsy, that im going to school and what not. They had my account information and where i lived and everything. creepy
So I received this call a few times no message left , I new it was a scam ,however I had them on the phone for a bit had a little fun with them ,
I asked about the grant ,explained I had used grants before ,They gave me my old location of living ,and they said I had no criminal record that I can receive this money .I said well that's wrong but carry on ....His accent was so heavy and deep ,I couldn't understand him ,I asked if there was an office I can go to with my lawyer who helped me get out of jail who handles my grants for getting me out of jail ( totally untrue ) ... He said that's ok sure sure here is our address ,gives me an address in Washington ,I said sir You told me where I live not near you at all how am I to do this ,I asked let me speak to your supervisor, He then puts me on hold COMES BACK TO THE LINE AS "Johnathon" SAME [***] MAN @!! I was hysterical .... So I let him try and sell me yet again knowing im just [***] around with them ,I said okay we can come drive there in 2 weeks what time on a Monday is good for me to meet with my lawyer and my husband ,were usted to the grant process we know its alot of paper and then the money order can he placed or a direct deposit ,it will take us a day to drive there and we can take in the sites,,, he pauses ,saying then hes unsure they have people working Mondays ,I say well what day then ..Silent on his end ,I say Sir sir ,I can call my Po officer im sure he will let me go because as you said im one in 7 thousand people in my demographic to receive this and were really in need of this sounds great !! Mind you he still is trying to be "Jonathon" Yet forgetting he told me he passed the so called phone to a "different person " He says he may need to re look over the file I said maybe you do OR MAYBE I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE ALREADY LOCATED AND I'VE ALREADY RECORDED ALL OF THIS ......He hung right up Once in a while ya gota give it back to them IF your in the mooood its pretty amusing what will Pour out of your mouth ..[***] !!!
this number called me in the middle of an important meeting, stated I "have been chosen to receive a grant." Naturally, I know it's a scam and play along. Eventually he asked if I had a credit card, and I responded no (course I do, but I won't say that out loud) . He then called me "A f***ing moron, and that I should kill myself for being so stupid". Don't fall for it
