They left a message that I was being sued by the IRS for tax years 2010 and 2011 and needed to pay immediately. I asked what address they had for me and if I had been notified by mail. They said their systems were down, but they would send somebody to my address with documentation. They also asked if I had money in my checking account and asked for my ATM number.

I guess the Indian scammers have figured out the majority of Americans aren't buying their heavily accented proclamations of being representatives of the "IRS," certainly not when they ask for banking info and demand payment via iTunes and GreenDot cards. Now they're using an automated/computer generated voice message instead of live conversation. It definitely helps mask the background boiler room noise.
