Received a call on my cell phone from the # 720-492-5697 which comes up from Colorado. Then a recording states that "they" have been trying to reach me and this is the final call before filing a lawsuit by the IRS. Then leaves the # 202-407-9896 to call. I have not called as I came here first and now see, as I expected, this is a scam to steal. I know the IRS does not make phone calls like this. I do not have any tax issues. My cell # is from another state where I used to live. CAN NOTHING BE DONE TO STOP THIS CRAP?
I received a call from the same number. No one answered though. I thought it might have been a dumb scam. The idiocy that exists in this world. Thanks for the heads up.
Received a call this morning from 721-402-5697, the caller ID showed up as "unknown name" so I let the answering machine handle it. It was a Robo call telling me the IRS was filing a law suit against me and to call 202-407-9896 for more info. I suspected it was a scam since I know I don't owe any back taxes, also, the IRS uses certified mail for such matters. Being curious I googled both numbers, I found that the (721) area code is actually assigned to Sint. Maarten, which happens to be located on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin
Same thing I received a call from 2826562822 & they left a message saying that they are making a final attempt to contact me and they are the IRS and are going to file a lawsuit against me. I don't owe the IRS anything and will not call them back.
Received call that I am being sued by the IRS and this call is my final warning! Called number they told me to call and it's busy. I redialed the "unknown" number that called my mobile number and its a no working number.
