This is a scam that was reported on the news. They say that they are the federal government and they want to give you a grant. Do not call the number back.
Is there nothing at all any of us can do about these incessant spam/telemarketing calls. and of course they are calling our cell phones as many of us do not have landlines anymore. I received this call today and did not answer. I will block the number now. problem is that most of these callers have multiple numbers that the computer dials from. Block one, get 10 more. Today was my final straw. Home from work really really really sick but needed to keep my phone by me as the doctor was calling. I was in a dead sleep after not sleeping for 48 hours and this %^$&)(8 effing call came in. I did not answer but threw my phone across the room in anger and broke it. This is an invasion of privacy to the enth degree. and the worst thing is feeling so powerless to do anything about it.
