caller id read washington, dc. bubble lip barely able to read his script. investigative unit of the usa. press 1 to be connected with an investigator or the management department. investigation into the person or persons associated with this phone number. call us back or have your attorney call us back we must get a statement or disposition from you regarding this matter. there is no such thing as the investigative unit of the usa and he never used anyones name just the person or persons name associated with this phone number. a new month a new scumbag crawled out from under a rock with a new scam.
I got this same call and message. I was under the impression that if the government needed anything from you, they'd notify you in writing. Thought this call was a scam too.
This certainly is not a new scam and has been highly publicized on TV, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines, and the Web.
IRS Scam:
The IRS does not need to sue anyone. They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office. Several of them. Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for. Again delivered by the Post Office. Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own. If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge? They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given. The IRS does not accept payment in Itunes Cards, Amazon gift cards, or any other type of payment other than cash, check, credit or debit card (from normal everyday citizens).

they also called my wife's cell phone on sept 2nd and left a very similar message to the one on my home phone. same bs about person or persons associated with this phone number, never a mention of anyone's name. on the call to my home phone he say's to call them back and you are officially notified. how can some one be officially notified when no names are used and notified of what? my wife's call also gave a call back number of 336 907 2084. this number also has reports on this site and those reports are all like these.
