Yes. The "IRS Scam" is probably the most publicized scam on the internet, print papers, radio & TV.
I guess the "low information" people have not heard of it yet.
... and, it seems that same group forgets how to return here to read answers.
The IRS does not initiate communications
with a "cold call" to unsuspecting people.
Instead
The IRS always sends a letter, first!

They always send a snailmail first.
