I just received a call from a lady with an Indian (India) accent telling me she was from the United States Federal Grant Office and I was awarded a one time grant of $8,000. She gave me a Money Confirmation I.D. Number & a Security Code Number then told me to call her supervisor at (202) 436-9070 in order for the grant money to be released. When I called they told me I needed to give them $250 to unlock the grant money, but that I'd be reimbursed for the $250. They told me I'd never have to pay it back, can use it for anything but drugs, cigarettes or alcohol
Thank you for posting. They told me that they were from the US Federal Grant Dept of Washington D.C. and gave this phone #. The funny thing was that yesterday I was given the same offer from the US Federal Grant Dept of California. They were trying to give me $9000 each year for the next three years, stating that this is not a loan and I would never need to pay the money back. I guess my dreams came true because I just won the lottery that I never played. They gave names of Jessica Jones and Jake Brown. They were definitely from India. Jake Brown from Dept of Washington DC told me that they do not have any affiliation to the previous because the phone numbers to call back were not the same. They both gave confirmation #s. The first call back #202-684-6931 and the second was 202-436-9070. My caller ID stated that the first one was from Angel Camp CA with an unknown number and the second came up Washington D.C. 202-657-6524. I believe they are just trying to get more information for fraud purposes. I am not giving them my info. Crazy scams like this can ruin a person's life. Each time they were trying to confirm my information was correct. In the end, the place that I called was my credit bureau and put flags on my accounts. I would just like to thank all the companies in America that have outsourced our information, now they think they can take advantage of us all.
