My granddaughter for the first time trying to do something very adult like and accept a call on her cell phone from a company offering her free funds for college. They told her that they were from the US Federal Grant Dept of Washington D.C. and gave this phone #. They offered her a grant for school for the price of $0 for a $9000 grants scott free and that is how they put it. But in order for her to process it she had to pay $11.50 for processing fee and then it started to get fishy but she did not realize it because she was happy someone was helping her with a grant for college. Now when she went to Wal-Mart 613 in Ormond Beach, when they started the Money Gram processing they (US Federal Grant Dept of Washington D.C. ) was on the phone telling her that an additional $211.50 was need and sent with the money for processing. Mr. Eric Jordan on the phone stated she needed to pay addition money which was ending up to the amount all together $211.50 and still not thinking anything was fishy. When she picked me up from work yesterday after already giving them the money I went online looking up phone number and it is a truly big scam that all are receiving but because of her young age and first time trying to do something on her own they scammed her and now I am trying to figure out what everyone needs to shut these humans down. Eric Jordan was the one to talk to her and Ms Afhley Elizaveth Morrill (Has be a fake name) received the money .
We contacted them last night and her money is on hold. Need to know step for retrieving money. It was all she had and I feel bad I have to work and not been there to assist her and this would have never happened. Yes she just learned a valuable lesson. Let me know what we can do please.

• Microsoft or a different famous software company, or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you Vanilla Card, GreenDot, MoneyGram, Western Union or use any gift/money card to send money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Geeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse with termites, or a statement that your computer is infected.
• 876 is NOT your lucky number, and it will cost you money to call that area code!
• The number you see on your Caller ID may not be the number of the person who called you!
• The Do Not Call List works as intended. It is NOT a call blocker!
