I received a phone call today, February 9, 2015 at 12:40PM EST, purportedly from an Officer Amy Brown (badge number IR40215). She gave me her phone number of (202)436-9098. She said that the IRS is suing me (case number CD8642CA) and asked if I have a criminal lawyer representing me, but she would not elaborate what the lawsuit is about. I asked for the 800 number and extension that I could reach her, and she said she has to talk to her supervisor on how to proceed and never called back.
I emailed TIGTA and they confirmed it is an impersonator in a scam.
Just received a call from an officer of the IRS who had an indian accent and said there was a warrant for my arrest due to owing the IRS.....I asked him who he was and he repeated the information re: he is an officer from the IRS. I finally said this all sounds like a scam to me, where is your supervisor...he hung up. I called the #and no one answered. WTH!
Recorded message received from a female caller with an accent saying the authorities would be called if I did not return this call. I only received the end of the call, a partial message. The Females voice sounded as if it was coming from someone in authority and she used a threatening manner. A call now or else threat. Caller ID showed it was from a unknown name (202) 436-9098. Call was received on Wednesday 2-11-2015 at 8:34am (PST). I did not know what to do, so I entered this number in to see where the 202 area code was coming from. Up came this 800notes site. Thank you for being here, it helped a lot.
Got call saying there was a signed affidavit that I was suspect in IRS case wanted name of my criminal lawyer. This is 3rd time this guy has called, says his name is Sean and gives badge number 41960, has thick Indian accent.
