Got the same call this morning 11/12/14 saying to call 202-464-2549. My phone log shows it came from 934-561-3641. A call yesterday also that showed a Seattle number 253-204-7575 and there was a person on the phone with an accent that was barely understandable. Today an automated call telling me I must call this Washington DC number or I would be sued. I will report this today as mentioned in this article.
(I hope they call again at a time when I can answer with no one else within ear shot. They will get some very understandable English words.)
A message was left on my answering machine this afternoon (11/13/14) warning that it was the "final call" from the "Internal Revenue Services"--note that it's "Services," plural--and that I had to call 202-464-2549 before a lawsuit would be filed against me. The phone number showing on my caller ID from this caller is 1-933-561-3601. Of course, it's a scam, but I felt I should warn the gullible people who might fall for it.
Call from 202-464-2549 claiming that the IRS is filing suit against me. I don't mark the call type below, because "threat" was not one of the options, but that is what it was.
recd call @ 547AM, 11/14 on landline. let it go to message. said, " this is IRS...we've been trying to reach you...final notice...filing lawsuit against you...call 202, 464-2549." no prior calls or msgs left on ph. tried calling, mailbox is full(yeah, cuz they're calling all the others above !!! [***] !). i know I do not owe taxes. my friend said it sounded fishy. & now i know having checked this site. thanx, now i can sleep tonite...
