The phone calls I get from this number says it is from the U.S. Treasury Department. The calls have been going on for 2 weeks now. They want you to call them back and then someone claiming to be a police officer picks up the phone and tells you that you owe back taxes from 2009 to 2015. This is a scam reported by the IRS.
The IRS does not initiate contact via a phone call, they first send postal letters.
The IRS does not threaten arrest.
The IRS does not demand immediate payment over the phone.
The IRS does not ask for Credit card, Debit card, or prepaid money card information, at all.
It is a scam ran by offshore criminals attempting to trick you into sending them money.

They called me this morning left a voice message and I called them back vacated I couldn't understand what was said. Sometime answered have me a badge number and said they were with internal affairs and that I was in trouble with the irs. Stated that I owed them over $4000 from back in 2014 ( this is not true one bit) they read more something and cut me off when I was asking a question. They hung up on me, so I called them back and they said they don't want to argue and that the conversation was on a record line. I took them I don't care if it is record or not and that I know I didn't owe them anything and no-one has come to my house or sent me anything from the it's to sign papers. I also called them out by sawing I don't know why they are trying to get money from me unless they are running an illegal ways of getting money, and if so they are nothing but scammers. They hung upon me again, I called back and asked to speak to a person in charge, for told they were in a one hour meeting then the guy hung up on me.
