Must be the Washington Post. I canceled my Washington Post subscription a month ago due to relocation, and started getting these calls. I answered a few times but there was no one there.
I used to get the Post (only on Sunday's), today is the first time getting a call from this number. Listed "Out of Area", with 202-470-6987, no answer. Hopefully this will be the first and only time.
Just now got a call from that number which I didn't answer, and no message was left on my machine. A Google search led me to this site. I do get the Washington Post on Sundays only.
I called the number back, and it rang repeatedly until a machine picked up saying it was "Landmark Telemarketing" and giving menu options, one of which was to be put on their "do not call" list. But it took a few button pushings to actually "send" the message, not just leaving the message at the tone. So bear that in mind when requesting to be put on their DNC list and make sure to listen to all their rigamarole before hanging up after leaving your message.
This "No Caller ID" thing that companies are now using needs to be stopped!
I too have a subscription to the Sunday Wash Post only. Maybe they are trying to get me to sign up for daily service? I left a message on their voicemail telling them to take me off their list. Hope it works...
Just called......These people have called several times and not left any messages however we just canceled our Washington Post subscription and they still owe me MONEY BACK....I suppose next time I'll answer to see if I can get my money back...
I've been getting calls from 202-470-6987 one to three times a week since May 07. Caller's never left a message. I always thought it was an annoying Telemarketer. I have never answered or called that # bcse is always as UNKNOWN NAME. I don't answer #s I can't recognize!!!
