I got two, this number and 202-480-2991 around 8:00 PM tonight, pretty much back-to-back
Like Wes said it's a recording for some political crap from Tele Town Hall LLC, www.teletownhall.com, both numbers are listed as from cell phones in the Weschester (sp) area of District of Columbia
If ya call the number back and wait for the end of their recorded message, they give you the option of pressing "2 if you do not want to recieve messages of this type in the future"
My phone/TV/internet/fax all run through my cable TV service & when I receive calls, in additon to showing on the phone, the calling number is displayed on my TV screen. I've seen this at various times this year (2010) and ignore it since the phone & fax don't ring. It appeared twice today at around 7:00 pm (today is Labor Day) so I'm attempting to "report this" number so we can hope it/they get discoverd & shut down. Help stop these 202-480-2991 calls can report it
As Bill said, he was going to call back to have his number not be called in the future. I don't recommend this cause now the computer knows its reaching you - just like any telemarketing service...
I am on a 'do not call' list and I continue to get calls such as this. I wish there could be meaningful consequences to this kind of activity. I have thought all along that we are going about this the wrong way; we should start a "National I Want A Call" list and only the people that sign up for these calls can get them!!
