SCAM!!!! BEWARE!!!! Guy named William answered and said he was from the IRS Criminal Investigation Unit. I told him that IRS doesn't conduct business on the weekends and he started laughing. I also told him that IRS agents provide their ID number also that their hold music is too poor a quality more important the IRS doesn't play music. Even before that you get certified mail.

Called once yesterday and once today at around the same time. I didn't answer and the voicemail left was a robocaller, but poorly programmed so their message started playing before it started recording, so all I heard was it reading the number.
Anyway, I figured it was a scam, good to see it confirmed here. Number blocked!
Called today, weird voicemail so called back the guy answered IRS. Asked for my name and last 4 digits of SS. I told him I wouldn't give him this info on the phone. He persisted and I told him it was a scam and that I am recording the whole conversation and will be reporting him to the police. A real sense of fear came across from him as he said "You can't do this, I am a good person" to which I said, "no you're an expletive person trying to scam old people out of money". He then threatened saying "if you report me, I will make your life a living hell". I laughed and told him to get ready to enjoy those prison boys. He hung up.
My Mother-in Law just lost her husband three weeks ago today. She is a frail lady and does not deserve this caller bothering her during this time of loss. They need to get a real job or I will take legal action to protect her.
