Got same call only they said they were such and such with the FBI and I was to call back cause I was being sued. If you do call these places back do not stay on for more than a minute because the longer you stay on with them the easier it is for them to find your personal information. They can record your voice and reuse it, google you while you are on the phone with them and find where you live.
“IRS” calling – call back 202-492-8816. Since we had owed the IRS a SMALL (less than $20) amount, and had just paid, she tried calling back and told him that our check had cleared; why are you calling. She did not give any more information. He hung up. She then called the real IRS number and told them about it. They will be investigating it.
Hopefully they will be taking real action.
Same IRS scam as everyone else reports. First off, the IRS contacts you by mail not phone if there is an issue. And they most certainly wouldn't call you from a wireless (cellular) number as this one displays. Tell them your tax matters representative is Helen Waite. If they need to address taxes with you, go to Helen Waite!!
