They called you from those far away muslim countries....the most of times, big companies hire those people for their customer service (1-800 numbers) because they are paid pennies per hour, then they manage a HUGE data phone numbers around the world and use them to scam people.
Same moron tried that government grant thing on me basically told him the same thing our government GIVES NOTHING AWAY and told him it was a scam.....and he hung up. They are a persistent bunch as they keep calling I no longer answer numbers I don't know if it's important they will leave a voice mail....
I RECIEVED EXACTLY THE SAME PHONE CALL some how he had all my information and he told
too the samething about grant for 9000. I was very suspicious because it foriegn guy but calling for the government super red flag .I tried to call the number back and it was no long in service. I havent called the second number he gave to recieve money but I see no step is needed further it is exactly what saw it to be a scam!!!!!!
I just received the same call. When I told him the government didn't do this and I wasn't interested he hung up. I decided to google the phone number and found your post and several others. I guess some people are gullible enough to do what he asks but with all the publicity about this type of scam you think people would wise up.
