Received a phone call from this number from a supposedly DEA agent, Lt. John Lewis...I was scammed out almost $10,000.00. Don't know what to do or who to call from this point.
I got a call from this number about 2 weeks ago claiming to be a DEA agent doing an investigation into drug trafficking--First off, let me say that any DEA agent would never blow his/her cover and inform a potential criminal----Then that failed when my husband said he knows this is a scam--So today the same number called and said they were some health mart offering medication--I said I was not interested and he said. ''oh we have specials for online medications''--I said, ''no thank you'' and he said ''ok have a nice week''--The call was hard to hear as it was scratchy and sounded as if he were in a warehouse--
A rule of thumb is no matter who they claim to be never, ever, give that person your private information or access to any bank accounts should they want money by scaring you--A legit person would not ask for your info., or account(s) for money--
Guy called my wife's cell stating that he was a DEA Lt and that she was being investigated for online prescription drug purchase. I called the number back and talked to the guy and with my knowledge of Law Enforcement and questioning, I had him shook! He said his name was John Lewis out of the Maryland office. I asked for proof of a credit card purchase and he said that it was confiscated by customs at my house and that it was C.O.D??? Who sends drugs online C.O.D????? This had SCAM written all over it!! I called the same number back (301) 328-9012 and sounded like the same person saying Lt. Lewis was (out in the field). Reported them to the REAL DEA diversion and extortion control number 1-877-792-2873
