Left a message that started out in silence followed by background noise similar to a call center. A woman identified herself as Investigator Logan and stated that one of my adult children, or their attorney, needs to contact her regarding a scheduled processing. If the call was not returned, the results would not be in his/her favor. The return number to call her at is the same as the one stated on the caller id. I am assuming this is someone trying to collect a fraudulent debt. My adult child has a credit score over 800 and has no debt. Not even a credit card. Do not respond to this call. if possible, block it.
The same lady called me, and when I asked for some documents to be sent to me she transferred me to another department. He stated his name was Mitch and told me he could not send the documents and I needed to pay 1000 for a payday loan I never got
A woman called and started confirming all types of security questions... Not even so much as introduce herself. She started off with the same hook, line and sinker they had presume I would fall for. The whole, we are calling today because blah blah credit card company is trying to settle a debt (from eons ago). And before this debt goes any further to court, I would like to know if you would like the option of settling this outside of court. When I asked for more information, she got jumpy and started strong-arming me saying that she had me on recording saying that I do know this debt, when all I asked for was more documented information. The reason I did that was because debts are sold from company to company, so I think its best to verify said debt. I continue to ask for documentation, she then said that there is no need because their client have tried mailing me (clearly, they do not have any documentation) all she said was we have all the 'evidence' on their screen. She keeps going about how urgent this is and that they will have to see me in court. She's crazy if she thinks I wasn't entertaining this the entire time.

This 'company (MSI Law Firm)' called my father and left a message how they were needing me or my lawyer to call them (Investigator Logan) back regarding three felony charges and warrants out for check fraud. I won't bore you with the additional details, but I knew that this was a fraudulent company as I have not committed check fraud and do not have any felony charges against me.
I called the company back to give them a taste of their own medicine. I calmly asked Ms. Logan why she had called my father. After a long synopsis of the 'debts I owed and the charges against me' I informed her that I was recording this call. Additionally I let her know that my father is a federal law enforcement investigator (which he really is) and recommended to let her know that her company was in violation of the fair debt collection practices act by calling my father and telling him details of this situation. After telling her this, I calmly stated that I didn't know how to continue to deal with her since she and her company were breaking federal law.
And that was it... she stuttered a minute then hung up the phone.
So my advice to you... use this same script and I bet you won't hear out of them again.
