Received a call from this number saying it was the IRS however, because I have had Identity theft on my taxes before I know that the IRS does not make any calls you receive paper mail so immediately I knew it was a scam
This number just left me a voicemail saying I was in a tax return fraud and hard to pay back the money.good thing I didn't call them wanted to check whether it was the irs for real coz the scanners always leave me voicemails and at times calls.thanks for ur comments guys
told me I owed 7,450 and if not paid, I will face 5 years in federal prison. he wounded very convincing. said I was audited and for 5 years I committed fraud. his name was officer Jacob Anderson. badge# DC526. called from 202-524-8877. scared the sh*t out of me. almost had me in tears. when I said I could not come up with all that money, and asked for a payment plan, he refused and stated I could go to the website: www.irs.com eftps and make my payment there with a card I buy from a place like walmart or cvs. because I do nnot have 7,450, he said I could go get a loan against my car. if I had the title, I could give him the information and he would secure it.... that is when I knew it was a lie. I did call the Treasury Inspector General at 800-366-4484 and was directed to their website www.tigta.gov where I filed a complaint.
