They called three times today. Americanized female voice warns that I will be sued by IRS if I don't call back. I hope they are still waiting for my call. The old IRS scam lives on!
this guy had a indian accent telling me thati owe money when i told him how do i know this isn't a prank call he told me he was gonna send a guy to my house to explain 1 month later he never showed up lol
My husband and I got a call from someone saying they were from the IRS. Said we owed back taxes. And if we didn't pay $2986 immediately they would freeze our assets and have us arrested. I initially tried calling the IRS to determine if there really was a judgement against us. But couldn't get through to a live person. That's when I did a Google search on the number and found this site. Apparently we aren't the first he attempted to scam. My biggest concern was that he had all of our past addresses. Guess he does some research before he makes a call.
202 241-0919 Robo recording claiming to be a IRS "Officer"..., called back just for fun and as soon as I said this is a scam...., she hung up. Check with IRS web site and yep...., total scam. The IRS will NOT make first or second contact by phone, it will always be by "certified" US Mail. Even if you get a letter..., the real IRS says call them using the number on their web site or in the phone book..., NOT the one on the letter.
