I received a call from this number today. The female with accent stated I had been awarded a free government grant. I was told I could use it anyway I wanted it is free. I told her to keep it. I checked the number on Google and see it is a big scam unit.
Calls about once or twice a week. I never answer. Today, I called back from my work line and an automated message came up stating, "compilot voice portal, please enter your mailbox number."
I got a call from this number stating they are the US Government Grants department and that I have(somehow magically) been granted $7000. I explained their MO of me having to wire $110 or something to them in order to get this $7000 and asked him if that's what is going on. He said no, obviously no fraud will accept to his wrong doings that easy! I didn't have time and just told him I'm not falling for this and hung up.
Number called me just a few minutes ago and I answered knowing it was probably a scammer ( I get tons of these calls) and some lady was on the other end with a heavy indian accent saying she was from the State of Washington DC Bureau and that I had randomly been selected to receive $3,000 and asked me if I was ok with it? I told her "no" and that I knew she was a scammer and to get a real job. She followed up with a "[***] you" and hung up on me.
