I got the same call from the same Indian sounding woman so I am checking on it myself. If the government wants to send me some money, I am all for it, but why can't they send me a check?
I got a call from an Indian sounding woman telling me that I won a federal grant because I'm a good tax paying citizen.All she wanted was a credit card,debit card or a bank account number,so I could get it deposited within an hour.When I told her that I didn't have any of those,she gave me a cornfirmation number to call(202-559-7888)and they would mail me a certified check.I did not call.

Just got the same call from an Indian sounding woman...same phone number to call...probably the same confirmation number as the rest of you (KE171) I requested a check as well...I'll wait by the mailbox for that :)
Also it might have helped her scam more if she gotten my name right!

Got a call back from "Nancy Smith" in the grant department in Washington, DC...yeah, right. She just said she received a call from this number, but didn't identify herself until I pressed her.
I just got the same call - told her I'd like to receive money by a check. She gave me this number and told that $99 processing fee is required if I want to get money by the check. She gave me this number and confirmation number to call back and arrange the check to be sent to my address. :)))
