I have also received a call four times in the past four hours stating they was apart of the government and had a 9,000 reward for me all I had to do was go get a green dot card and send 295 dollars and I will receive the money in minutes gave me a I'd number and all I never received the money back at all I think the government should really look into this matter
Sorry to say, you got scammed. Think about it - why would the government want a green dot card? And if they were giving you "free" money, why charge you for it? Why not just take the "handling charge" (or whatever they're calling it this time) out of the amount they're giving you?
Just FYI, the government doesn't give away money, nor can you "win" a grant for being a good citizen, paying your bills on time, never filing for bankruptcy, or any of the many other reasons the scammers try to claim. You have to apply for a grant and you never have to PAY to receive the grant.
Most of these calls originate overseas so there's not a lot the government can do about them.
