Partially unintelligible message left on our home answering machine from a woman with an accent (Val Haller?) - claiming she was with the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, DC and should call her ASAP. We were unable to understand the reason for the call - that's the part that was unintelligible.
Partially unintelligible message left on voicemail from a woman. Couldn't understand what her name was, but she was claiming she was with the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, DC and should call her ASAP. I was unable to understand the reason for the call. After looking up the number on the internet, it appears this is a cellphone. Also, the number is not listed anywhere on the FTC website (http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm). All the numbers in the FTC directory are 326, no 580. Possible scam?
Recevied same call from a "Mark Anderson"...but sounded like a woman. They asked to speak to my wife and I inquired the prupose of the call. Very difficult to understand the broken english and never got an answer that I could understand..... They did know our street address and city where we lived....so I hung up. Called our BBB and they told me it was a Scam....
