Got a call / VM message - woman's voice, "We have been trying to reach you, this call is official and final
notice from IRS, the reason of this calll is IRS is filing a lawsuit against you, for more information regarding this, please call our department immediately at 202-580-8423."
I blocked my caller ID and call the 618 area code number, it is disconnected, so it is a spoofed number. I blocked my caller ID again and called the 202 area code, reached a recording asking to leave a message.
Obviously this is a scam -- IRS sends snail mail; they do not use phone. They didn't get me, but I am hoping they won't get any unsuspecting person. So many scammers in the world. I believe in Karma, so I'll drink to that.
I got this call from the same number, oh no there going to sue me and take all I have. This is a bunch of poop. If your reading this then you know that the scam didn't get you. They didn't get me either. The federal government doesn't call you for something like this. They show up with suites and file legal papers that are registered mail. If it sounds fishy----IT IS !!!
I received a call from this number as well. The automated recording told me to call this number. It said that a lawsuit was being filed against me. Suspecting it was spam, I researched the number and sure enough it was a scam! I called back, and the heavy accented man, as mentioned by others, answered, claiming to be the irs. I pretended not to know what was going on. He demanded my phone number for further information. That's when I told him that I was aware it was a scam, and to never call back again. DO NOT BE AFRAID! This scammer is powerless. They only pretend to have all your info. I encourage you to either completely ignore the calls, report them, or call back and CONFRONT them. Just do not give any of your information!

Had my wife look it up since none of it was reality,
and found this page with others having the same scam.
These people must be on welfare and have nothing else to do
with their lives. Send them back to Central America or
wherever they illegally migrated from via Obamanation.
I just received a call from 202-580-8220 stating that thaty legal and criminal charges are pending against me for my 2008-2013 miscalculation of back taxes and that they are the IRS and that I they were sending the police to arrest me seize my bank accounts, home, etc if I did not pay the $2,997.00 that I owe in back taxes. They also knew my name and address and of course my telephone number
