I was getting calls from 202-580-8448 and I finally called and the message said it was URGENT and from the IRS and that I have been fraudulent on my taxes. So I called and a man was talking and I said hello and then he said hello and he had a really thick East Indian accent and said I was going to be arrested but they had to give me the info before they arrested me and he only had limited info. He gave me a case number, said he worked for Jason Scott, gave me a badge number, case number.....I only said my name and I told him I can't hear or understand him and then I hung up. I was terrified and he kept asking who has been doing my taxes and kept saying that. How do we protect ourselves from these people.
Call blocker might be of some help. Also don't pick up on numbers you do not recognize, or where there are caller IDs that seem odd. Or where there is no caller ID Never return these sorts of calls.
