Same here. Got text from someone saying that he wanted to buy my car that is listed on Craigslist ASAP. That he was OK with price and condition of the vehicle. Wanted me to send him my paypal email address and full registered name so that he could send the payment.
You are correct to ignore these type of messages. The next step would be to send you a fake but legit looking PayPal payment notice for more than the actual purchase amount with instructions to wire the excess to his "shipper" or "mover". If you go to the real PayPal site and check your account you would see that no funds were deposited. If you point that out to them they will claim the funds are being held pending you wiring the shippers fee then the money would be released to your account. Text back, in person sale only, cash or check with 2 forms of ID.
