MENTIONED IRS AND LAW SUIT IN MY NME GIVES FILE NUMBER AND A DIFFERENT PHONE NUMBER TO CLL BACK MUST BE A SCAM!!! PREYING ON THE OLD AND INJURED S0MEONE STOP THESE PEOPLE!!!1
Wish it could be done, but these people are Indian and Pakistni scammer/ extortinoists and as such beyond the reach of US law. Invest in a call blocker and do not pick up on numbers you do not recognize.
Just got a voicemail from this number saying it was the IRS about a lawsuit and to call back before they file at the county courthouse. When I called, a man with an accent said that he was an IRS agent and asked me for my name so he could pull my file. Then he confirmed my address and asked if I knew what the lawsuit was about. When I said "no" he said they would mail "documentation" and he said thank you and hung up.
It is obviously very suspicious although I don't know what they achieved since they didn't go any further in asking for information that might be useful in a scam.
called once and didn't leave a message. Called 2 more times leaving messages about the IRS and being sued. we called back and they told us they were looking at our taxes from the last 6 yrs and that the sheriff would be at our house in 45 minutes to arrest my husband. he than hung up on us. got to love scammers, not.
