I just got a call from the same guy, said his name was Steve Jackson. First a recorded message was left saying it was the final call and the IRS was filing a law suit. I only called back because we are in the middle of buying a house so I wanted to see what it was about. When I called back he told me his name was Steve Jackson. I asked who I should talk to about the lawsuit. He then called me some pretty horrific names "stupid [***]" "f-ing [***]" etc.....all with a heavy accent, but I clearly understood what he was calling me. I am so mad right now, and nothing can be done about it! People suck :(
Got a recorded call from 202-621-0140 in a woman's voice saying I needed to call back since the IRS was about to file a court case against me. Read up on this number and did not call back since it is a scam. (See the ex-IRS agent's comments below.)
Received a call from "Steve Jackson" ID#115377 202-864-1702 who stated I was involved in a criminal lawsuit. I was being notified that I owe $6,480 for back taxes for years 2013 and 2014 and an officer was coming to arrest me in 50-60 minutes. I asked how I can rectify this and he said not to worry that the arresting officer would have information to give me. He said to wait 30 minutes and my bank accounts wpd be frozen and my driver's license would be suspended for 7 years.
They kept asking me which phone number I received the message on. I refused to give it and offered the case number that has been provided on the message. There was lots of garbled chatter in the background.
