this is a alt number (202-622-5000) that the people from phone number 202-803-4820 will give you and have you give it you your friends or family members so they can "help you" pay the amount you supposedly owe the IRS and avoid being arrested and taken to court
NOT actually the IRS. Scammers can purchase the ability to "push out" any number they want on caller ID. This allows them to make people believe they are calling from DC or the IRS.
It was a recorded message saying my name and physical address had been flagged for tax evasion, and is under federal investigation. Gave me a number I didn't catch...called it back and got the IRS automated message asking if I needed help filing or had questions. But said they were over booked on calls
