I just received a call with caller Id 078687581. Indian man said he was calling about my lost cat and to return call at 202-629-9917. I googled the area code at it was for D.C. I immediately thought overseas caller and scam.Glad I found this site. I wont bother calling back. The website I posted my lost cat on forforewarned of these scams.
This number is being used by scammers who call people who have lost dogs. They offer to search for your dog for a price and promise results or your money back. They do not have people who search for dogs.
It's a pity people try to monopolize on another's grief when their dog is missing. Our dog has been missing for two days and this guy just called me. It was a bad connection so he called 4 times, the cities he called from came up as New York, Los Angeles and Denver. That was a red flag. He wanted $ to look for my dog in tucson and said 170 people would actively be looking for her. [***].
Our pup has been missing less then 24 hours..And got a call from this no# . when i heard lost dog , my heart jumped... Only to find its Some Indian guy. Claimed to be with The pet rescue... Asked for call back no#. He gave this no. 202-629-9017. Goggled it and found that its a scam. The no is different from what my caller I'd said. Googled that no#. Scam computer tech something.... They guy said for a fee - returnable in 4 days... Everything he said was just like what others have posted ... even sent email to us from pet recuse ... Said he would call back. Also BEWARE OF THIS NO# 1-559-386-9702 . this no# was on our called ID.
They are obviously a SCAMSCAMSCAM. I really hope nobody buys into this.. they called my mom with a NY area code saying to call back a WA area code, then if she gave them money they would have 60+ people looking for our missing dog along with posting flyers.. This has got to be the most ridiculous, asinine scam I have ever even heard of. They originally called on the number 6072318335 which has a TON of various complaints and used www.thepetrescue.com as there website.. which looked like it was put together with barely any brains. Indians always have the dumbest scams. Makes me sick they would prey on people whom lost their dog.
