Yes I just got this call also I asked him for verification and he gave me an id chris123. then he gave me a number to call for $7500 to be western union. He didnt ask me for any other personal info. I asked him y they can't just issue a check he said the us treasury doesn't issue checks. These people reallly piss me off
Just to let you all know my husband I received the same call,I went through 4 different people saying they were supervisors and financial managers I got employee id numbers everything, an effort didn't have to putt forth.I finally talked to a man named willie Dobbs, he gave nee the address and phone number and everything to the u.s. Dept of health and human services, anyway to make a long story short, of course I needed to know if it was a scam.I got all the way to the inspector general, the info the lady gave me on the phone was the government will NOT contact u by phone email or letter in the mail,u will just recieve if u really r awarded a grant.please please don't give these ppl urpersonal info, in fact if u have been contacted call the c u can go to grants.gov and file a complaint. Please don't fall for this saam
I also got a call today from them saying that I was to receive a $7500 grant with a security deposit of $289 that would be refunded. I asked questions and wasn't getting the answers that I wanted or needed. Was very skeptical so went on the computer to do some research and so glad that I did. I would have been out a lot of money that I don't have. It is very sad that people get away with this. It needs to be stopped because I am sure there are a lot of people that fall for their scam and it is very unfortunate. Hope they all go to jail !!!!!
I also recieved a call. I was told was randomly selected by the government to recieve $7500 grant money to pay off my debts. They verified my qualifications staing that i had no criminal record and never filed bankruptcy. The money did not have to be paid back. I was asked to transfer the money to my bank account, western union, or reciece check by mail. I choose to do western union and was asked to pay $299 upfront at the nearest wal-mart western union or money graham. I was asked to call once I reach wal-mart parking lot and they would go thru the application process with me.I was told the $299 would be refunded to me along with $7500. I would recieve $7799 within 10 to 15 minutes. i asked where they were from and why do i have to pay 299 upfront. They said they were from federal grant dept in washington D.C. and the 299 was a security deposit for processing fee and to avoid paying taxes. I questioned them about it being a scam and they said not to worry western union will give m e a receipt. I told them i was unsure because they sounded like a foreigner that was working in Washington D.C. I asked them to email me documents that stating I was rewarded this money and i didnt hae to pay it back. They said they don't email or mail documents bc i didnt apply for the grant by application and that the grant was randomly selected by government. They told me not to worry it was not a scam and i could take my time to send the deposit bc the money will always be there simply bc the government gave it to me by random selection and not by application. I told them I would call back. A few days later i researched to see if it was a scam and viewed several of these articles. People do your research before recieving or giving any money. i never sent any money because i researched first. Thank God! Though im in need of debt relief, i will trust God! Those of you who believes, God said the unjust will not prosper. So these people will be held accountable somoe day! The law may or may not catch them but there is a God who sits high and looks down low!
